Our Story

Great women are behind these hats. Our hats are woven from a natural fiber extracted from the Iraca Palm, also known as the Toquilla or Jipijape.

From one generation to another, women from remote regions of Colombia have passed on the beautiful art of weaving in Palma de Iraca.

 

These brave women who desire to undertake, grow and expand in business are supported by cooperatives that support and guide them today.

 

It was not an easy task due to the oppression of the patriarchy- machismo. They fought against entrenched gender roles that forced them to stay home for child-rearing and household chores.

 

Thanks to the work of these cooperatives today, and the women behind them, we can share our living tradition with the world, highlighting Colombia's finest creations made from top-quality materials and superb craftsmanship.
